Course Objectives:
This course is designed to study the basics of painting still lifes and landscapes. Students will explore transparency, atmospheric perspective and composition. Demonstrations of different techniques will be given. There will be one landscape class conducted outdoors.
Supply List: (Students, please bring your own)
11" x 14" or 12"x12" stretched canvas
Brushes: Long Handle Brushes, 2 flats size 6 and 10, 2 rounds size 6 and 8
Acrylic paints (minimum size is 2.5 oz tubes)
Titanium White
Cadmium Yellow
Ultramarine Blue
Cadmium Red
Burnt Umber
Cadmium Orange (Optional)
Dioxazine Purple (Optional)
Sap Green (Optional)
Retarder 8 oz. (Optional)
Palette (disposable pad or flat wooden)
2 Palette Knives
One roll of paper towels
• 1" Masking Tape
• Ruler, Pencil #2B, Eraser
2 Plastic Jars for water (you may use empty yogurt container)
Wear painting attire!
