Description:

Students build core skills by transitioning from monochromatic studies to full color and abstract expression.

SUPPLY LIST: (If you do not have your own supplies, we recommend Hawaiian Graphics (hawaiiangraphics.com) as a good local art supply store)

Required Paints:

Cadmium Yellow Medium

Cadmium Red Medium

Ultramarine Blue

Titanium White

Burnt Umber

Optional Paints:

Cadmium Orange (Optional)

Dioxazine Purple (Optional)

Sap Green (Optional)

Retarder 8 oz.

Brushes and Tools:

2 flat brushes (size 6 and 10 )

2 round brushes (size 6 and 8)

2 Metal palette knives

Disposable paper palette pad or a plastic/glass/wooden mixing tray

Ruler, #2 Pencil, Eraser (for sketching)

Surfaces and Extras:

3 Acrylic-primed stretched canvases or canvas pad (sizes like 9x12 or 11x14)

3 Small canvas panels (size 5” x7”)

Small watercolor (w/c) paper pad or w/c paper sheets

2 Plastic containers for water

Small spray bottle (mister) to keep acrylic paint from drying out too fast on the palette

1 Roll of Paper towels
