This exhibition, presented by Downtown Art Center, brings together both group and individual pieces by a collaboration of kupuna women artists from around Hawaii, exploring the theme of women's work, broadly interpreted to encompass the full range of what women do, make, and experience. The participating artists have approached the theme through their own established practices, resulting in a diverse body of work. While the figure features prominently throughout the exhibition, the show also includes landscape and nature-based pieces, reflecting the many forms women's labor and creativity can take. This project was supported by a grant from the Awesome Foundation.
