ABOUT THE SHOW
Stories of close calls, lousy food, of buddies and homecomings; stories of who made it and who didn't. Stories of men who didn't want to be called heroes or warriors.
Stories of old soldiers returning to Europe 60 years later to find out they made a difference. And the story of how David began and what keeps him recording their stories two decades later. This is his first public performance sharing these true war stories.
ABOUT DAVID O'SHEA
David O'Shea's late father Earl was a radioman for a mortar company in Patton's 95th Infantry. For 22 years David has been interviewing WWII veterans in his memory at annual reunions, small gatherings and home visits.
David is an actor, an urban storyteller, and oral archivist. His film/TV credits include "The Office" and "Semi-Pro". He played Lear (in King Lear) and Prospero (The Tempest) at the Kourion Amphitheatre in Cyprus. He tells true stories drawn from 7 years as a NYC taxi driver (shared in a rockin' DAC show in February '26), 5 years as Santa Claus, and 22 years interviewing WWII veterans. Finally, at DAC on August 15, he will share some of these tales for the first time. David was born and grew up in Southwestern Ohio, close to VP Vance's hometown of Middletown and only 80 miles from Springfield. David swears that he's never knowingly eaten a cat nor known anyone who has.
